What a sustainable directory looks like when nobody is allowed to greenwash their way in

with verified data and in-person inspections

Hold The Throne is a sustainable directory.

We list ethical brands, eco friendly hotels and stays, plant based food and products, natural fibre clothing and green travel destinations, each with their real sustainability details and nothing they cannot prove. That is the whole point of us.

Most “sustainable” lists are a paid badge and a stock photo of a leaf. This is not that.

I am Cel, Queen of Vitality on all socials, ex-C level executive; full stack coder, animator, photographer, videographer, web designer and b2b marketing specialist. I went freelance to seek Vitality, from a sucessful 13 year career as head of corporate department utilising those skills, and I now investigate brands and call out greenwashing for a living, so every listing here is checked against the fine print, not the marketing.

If a certification has lapsed, we say so. If a hotel does one genuine thing and nothing else, we tell you that one thing and we leave the rest blank rather than dress it up. You do not get gold medals for saying please and thank you.

I believe in energetic consumption.

You poison your ground water, you poison us all. That is where we have the issue. We are one, and everyone is affected by the actions of one.

And I live this. I do not expect anyone else to be like me, but I have been plant based my entire adult life, no processed foods, my wardrobe is natural fibres, and I live on the land where I eat what I harvest myself. No supermarket.

That is my extent. When I travel, I seek out places that live the same way, and those are the ones I list in eco stays.

I will be honest with you, this is not for everybody. It is the ultimate strictness. We run on data. Facts and real proof, verified in person inspections, the actual sustainability details and nothing dressed up to look greener than it is.

The bar is the Throne Standard, and it is high on purpose. When you browse the eco stays in our directory you are reading honest, independently verified coverage of where to stay, organised by region and country, so a conscious traveller can find a genuinely sustainable hotel in minutes instead of trusting a green sticker on a booking site. When you read the clothing listings you get soil to soil clothing held to the same line, natural fibres named, the loopholes and the isolates flagged. Recycling is just extending a product’s death. A mass balance claim is an accounting trick. We name these things plainly, on the page, with the receipts, because transparency is the entire reason a directory like this deserves your trust.

This sustainable directory exists to do two honest jobs at once. It helps you, the reader, make a confident, conscious choice about what to wear, where to stay and what to buy, and it gives the genuinely good brands somewhere their real work is seen and verified rather than drowned out by the ones shouting louder. We are international, written for readers in the US, the UK and Europe, and we are growing this directory one verified listing at a time.

Look around the eco stays, the brands and the guides, and you will feel the difference between a place that earned its spot and a place that bought one. That difference is everything we stand for.
