Barbados Sea Turtle Project hatchling releases

Research-led, observation only. No feeding, no public handling, no captive animals. THE ETHICAL COUNTERWEIGHT to the commercial turtle-swim boats. Turtles are legally protected in Barbados and must not be touched, chased or fed.

Long-running university research and conservation project monitoring nesting and hatching, running a 24-hour turtle hotline and rescuing injured turtles. The public is invited to hatchling releases, announced at short notice. NOT a commercial attraction. A 25-year-plus scientific programme run by UWI that depends on public reporting. Attending puts you alongside researchers rather than an operator, and the hotline is worth carrying if you are on a beach at night.
