The reserve's islet sectors and the core of St Barth's seabird importance. The island holds around 13-14 nesting seabird species across roughly twenty islets, the RICHEST SEABIRD ISLAND GROUP IN THE LESSER ANTILLES. Fregate and Toc Vert support breeding bridled terns, sooty terns and brown noddies. Goats were eradicated from Fourchue in 2002-04, after which vegetation regenerated and lost bird species returned to nest.

Viewing from a boat offshore gives the birds without landing pressure. The goat eradication is a documented, tellable restoration story. ATE has counted seabirds annually since 2011.
