Verdict: PARTIAL

Contigo makes plastic water bottles. Contigo sits at the bottom tier, plastic forward of the Throne toy standard. Contigo is owned by Part of Newell Brands.

Brand stated, not yet independently verified. The certifications and material claims below are as the brand states them on its own site.

Material tierPlastic forward
CertificationsBrand states BPA-free across plastic and steel lines, with some plastic bottles using Eastman Tritan. These are material claims, not a third-party certification; kept as brand-stated. No independent certification found.
OwnershipContigo is a current Newell Brands brand (confirmed on Newell Brands' own 'Our Brands' page, alongside sibling drinkware brand Bubba). Newell (as Newell Rubbermaid) acquired Contigo/Avex parent Ignite Holdings LLC for ~$308M in 2014; still Newell-owned.
Caveat,
What to watch for

Trade press (Plastics News) reports plastic bottles represent 63 percent of Contigo and Avex products. The AUTOSPOUT drinking mechanisms used across the range are plastic. A BPA free claim is not the same as a plastic free claim, and Contigo is plastic forward despite heavy BPA free marketing

Why this verdict: Materials are published and this is a plastic forward product, which does not meet the natural material bar even where it is food safe.

Sources checked: Contigo's materials were read from Contigo's own website, https://www.gocontigo.com. The certifications shown are as Contigo states them, not yet checked against a certifier register.
