How we scan. Every figure comes from the Throne Standard scan: we read the fibre composition off each live Nike product on nike.com/gb, style by style, colourways deduplicated, and categorise it by its literal fibre content. Plant fibre means cotton, linen, hemp and flax; animal fibre means wool, silk, down and leather; synthetic means polyester, nylon, elastane and acrylic; semi-synthetic means viscose, rayon, modal and bamboo. An item counts as plant only when it is 100% pure plant fibre. Even 1% elastane disqualifies it, because elastane is a synthetic polymer. Nike states composition in ranges on some garments, and we record those exactly as Nike writes them.
