Geejam’s original treetop cabins were designed to sit within the existing tree canopy rather than clearing it, and during the construction of its newer Rumba Rooms, plant life was carefully relocated to minimise disruption to the rainforest landscape. The property bans single-use plastic throughout and has maintained a long-standing partnership with the Alligator Head Foundation, which restored marine life across the East Portland Fish Sanctuary through the creation of a protected No Fish Zone. Thanks to this initiative, Loggerhead and Hawksbill Turtles, Eagle Rays, Parrotfish and Southern Stingrays now thrive in Geejam’s bay.
Geejam’s on-site Bushbar restaurant is open seven days a week and serves Jamaican fusion dishes and cocktails. The Bushbar is built around two 300-year-old fig trees and features an infinity pool, DJ booth and forest-to-sea views. The menu draws on local Jamaican culinary traditions with fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced from local vendors, and private villa guests have access to a dedicated private chef service. Guests can also enjoy breakfast options including Continental, Jamaican and English breakfast as part of their stay.
