The owners installed solar panels for both hot water and electricity generation to cut reliance on the national grid, a response to rising energy costs across their Negril properties, with a gas backup used during extended cloudy periods.
Le Mirage filters and softens its collected rainwater through a purification system, in line with the water practices of its family run sister property Charela Inn.
Le Mirage follows the same water practices as its sister property Charela Inn, collecting rainwater from roof gutters into storage and treating it through a filtration and softening system before use, so soft, treated rainwater is preferred over mains water for lower consumption.
