Eco Amenities
The original cottages were built from local rock and from hurricane felled mahogany shipped from the family's Guadeloupe land, with furniture made on site, and the hotel was sited on the hillside away from the hurricane exposed shore, per the hotel's Family Story page (history dating from 1968). A cistern was built under each of the 25 houses, per the Family Story page. This is how the hotel was built; current water practice is not described. The hotel is a 3 to 5 minute walk from St Jean beach and village, and its own site says guests do not need cars.
