Is Outland Denim Ethical?

Outland Denim makes its jeans from organic and regenerative cotton denim, coloured with natural indigo dyes and grown from organic raw materials that lower impact at the farm level by eliminating harmful pesticides. The brand states no fibre percentages and no elastane content anywhere on its site.

Outland Denim garments are constructed in Cambodia, where the brand’s Design Lab, Cut and Sew team and Wash House sit under one roof and staff are offered fair, safe and fulfilling employment. The organic denim fabric itself is sourced from Bossa, a Turkey-based mill that has been the brand’s key denim supplier since its inception.

In 2019 Outland Denim invested in its own wash house and finishing facility running Jeanologia water and energy saving technology, including ozone, e-Flow and laser finishing. Its e-Flow process uses 95% less water, 40% less energy and 90% less chemicals than traditional techniques, while the ozone process uses 65% less water, 20% less energy and 80% less chemicals.
