Draft implementation · 13 October 2026. The 36 scanner conformance cases pass. These release checks apply to the new 2.2.0 evaluator; the published 1.3.3 method and historical records retain their own status. Pack release checks are shown below. A draft or Experimental pack does not publish a numerical score.
What a result measures.
A score names its metric. It does not establish overall sustainability, safety, health or ethics. Composition, ingredient declarations and environmental pillars share the same bands, but are compared only within the same metric. Ethics is a separate assessment.
Declaration
A complete declaration either passes its versioned list in full or fails a named check. An unmatched ingredient or an incomplete declaration is unresolved.
Pillar
Weighted criteria earn levels 0–4 from documented evidence. A claim is level 1. Unknown criteria lower coverage and stay outside the value calculation.
Exact maths. Visible limits.
Coverage = 100 × evidenced weight ÷ applicable weight. Value = 100 × weighted credit ÷ evidenced weight. For pillars, credit is level ÷ 4. Arithmetic uses exact fractions; values truncate to two decimals for display.

Pillars require at least 70% coverage; below 85%, their product value is capped below the 4/5 boundary. Less than half of applicable weight supporting implemented systems caps the product below 3/5. Product caps act before averaging; brand and venue caps or floors adjust the final band and retain the value.
Each parent product votes once. Different complete variant declarations each count once within the parent, with the spread shown. Sizes add no votes. Partial results show assessed and unresolved counts and a possible range; Partial and Sample results cannot be 5/5. A headline needs at least 70% of eligible products assessed.

Origin classes are plant, animal, mineral, regenerated, synthetic and unknown. “Natural” is never a scoring class. Origin does not establish safety. Materials, percentages, finishes and certificates are never inferred from a product name, photo or price.
Every score must show its metric, value, band, coverage, disclosure rate, assessed and eligible counts, scope, caps or floors, evidence dates and pack version. Blocked, unread, timed-out, conflicting and undisclosed evidence remain distinct. Sources retain their locator, capture date and content hash.
Bamboo hygiene
Bamboo names a feedstock. Pulp must disclose processing; bamboo viscose or rayon is regenerated cellulose. Tissue is assessed on process, bleaching, additives, plastic and hazard evidence, rather than plant share alone.
Pet food
Named animal and plant ingredients can meet the stated preference. Complete cat and dog food requires an animal lead ingredient; rabbit, guinea-pig and horse food requires a plant lead. This is not a nutrition or health score.
Home and toys
Formulations use ingredient declarations. Articles use materials, finishes, plastic and hazard evidence. Hygiene has its own pack. Cloth nappies and period underwear use Textiles; menstrual cups and discs use Articles.
Pack rules and release status.
A pack releases only after complete anchors or a pass list, a verified top-band reference, at least 20 known calibration items, a discrimination review, subtype references and passing golden tests. Subtypes change context and flags; they cannot change weights, bands or pass rules. Missing reference subtypes remain labelled and outside the headline mean.

What was confirmed against the reader.
The live single-component tolerance is 0.05 percentage points. The older animal floor counts classified product categories; the draft engine accepts exact pooled animal/nonplant shares. The old beauty origin classifier uses a hazard lookup; the draft evaluator separates origin, list decisions and hazard evidence. Historical records keep their own version and capture date.
Complete INCI, food, pet-food and home lists, the proposed thresholds, missing jewellery/cocoa/tour anchors and independently reviewed calibration evidence remain release requirements. Named synthetic-source pet nutrients require an explicit calibration decision. These gaps are visible rather than filled by assumptions.
