Is Rawganique Ethical?

Every Rawganique garment is made from natural fibres such as 100% organic cotton, 100% organic linen, organic hemp and merino, with no polyester, no elastane, no spandex, no bamboo, no plastic, no PVC and no chemical treatments. Trims stay true to this standard, so Rawganique uses plastic-free buttons carved from tagua nuts and coconuts, organic cotton thread and organic elastic made from 50% organic cotton and 50% natural rubber. Because these materials contain no synthetics, Rawganique states its products are 100% pure and 100% biodegradable.

Rawganique products are made in small batches in the USA and Europe, sweatshop-free, sewn in the brand’s own small workshop that complies with all labour and safety regulations in the USA and Europe. As a US company based in Washington state, Rawganique also grows the hemp, processes the fibre, weaves the fabric and hand-makes the hemp shoes the traditional way it has been done in Europe for hundreds of years, with the hemp processed without chemicals of any kind.

Plastic-free since 1997, Rawganique now encloses its organic cotton and hemp products in biodegradable cellophane bags or compostable translucent paper bags. The brand states its products contain no toxic chemicals or forever chemicals and no endocrine or hormone disrupting forever chemicals, and Rawganique describes its hemp footwear as GMO-free, pesticide-free, formaldehyde-free and dioxin-free.
