Good to know before you go

Pumpkins are rich in vitamin A (as beta-carotene), vitamin C and fibre, and are very low in calories. The seeds are a good source of protein, zinc and healthy fats.
Pumpkins grow on sprawling vines along the ground. Planted in late spring, they swell through summer and are harvested in autumn once the skin hardens.
Pumpkins need warm soil, full sun and plenty of space and water. They are grown through the warmer months across temperate and subtropical regions worldwide.
