Every rating on this site can be checked, challenged and traced back to where it came from. This page is where you do that, whether you are a reader deciding whether we are worth trusting, a business we have rated, or a platform considering licensing the data.

The five things you can check

None of these asks you to take our word for anything. Each one is a document, a register or a file you can open yourself.

How we decide every rating

The Throne Standard sets out the thresholds, what counts as evidence, and how each category is scored. It carries a version number and a date, so you can cite the exact version a rating was made under and see every change we have made to the method since.

What we sell, and who has paid us

We earn from sponsored articles, claimed listings, marketing services and affiliate links. None of it can buy a score, a verdict, a place in a ranking or the removal of a finding. The register names everyone who has paid us, and every paid or claimed listing carries a label on the listing itself.

Tell us we have got it wrong

Anyone can challenge a rating, including the business being rated. It costs nothing, and buying something from us never speeds it up. We publish our turnaround, we tell you which source we relied on either way, and every correction is logged in public with its date.

See the data before you ask us for it

The full schema, the fill rate for every field, and a sample of fifty real records as JSON or CSV, behind no wall and no account. The sample is spread across the whole score range on purpose, so the thin records are in it as well as the strong ones.

The law behind all of this

Why eco badges are disappearing, what the UK regulator can now fine you for without going to court, and what becomes unlawful in the EU from 27 September 2026. Written to be useful to anyone, with every source listed so you can check it yourself.

If we have rated your business

Three routes, and they are deliberately separate from one another.

Something we published is wrong. Send it to us through the corrections process. It is free, open to anyone, and the only route that can change what a rating says. Point us at a source and it usually settles in one exchange.

Your details are out of date. Claim your listing to keep your contact details, photographs and opening information current. Claiming changes what your listing says about you. It does not change your rating, and the claim is disclosed on the listing.

You want to work with us commercially. The media kit covers sponsored articles and video. Buying any of it changes nothing about how you are rated, and it puts you on the public register.

What we will not do

  • Sell a score, a verdict, or a place in a ranking.
  • Take payment to remove a report, or to delay publishing one.
  • Publish a finding without recording the source it came from and the date we read it.
  • Let a commercial relationship go undisclosed.

If you find us falling short of any of that, the corrections process is the right place to say so, and what happens next gets logged in public like everything else.
