About No Nasties

Good On Y
No Nasties garments are made in India. According to the brand and independent sources, nearly all of its clothing is manufactured by Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills (RCM) at facilities in Kolkata and Noida, and almost all of its cotton is sourced from the farmer-owned cooperative Chetna Organic. The brand states it uses a single cotton supplier and a single cotton mill and publicly discloses these suppliers.
No Nasties was founded in 2011 by Apurva Kothari, a former New York-based software engineer who returned to India to work with organic cotton farmers, reportedly in response to the cotton-farmer suicide crisis. The brand is an independent, founder-led company (no parent company on record) headquartered in Goa, India, where it also runs a flagship store. Multiple sources describe it as a small operation employing roughly 20 people.
No Nasties is a real, currently-trading, legitimate business. As of 2026 its e-commerce site (nonasties.in) is live and actively selling women’s, men’s, kids’ and home products, with current collections and active sales, and it operates a physical store in Goa. It is independently profiled by third parties including Good On You (rated “Great”) and Eco-Stylist (rated “Gold”), confirming it is the Indian organic-cotton clothing brand and not a same-name company in another industry.
No Nasties is slow/small-batch ethical fashion, not fast fashion. It produces in small volumes through a single mill using 100% organic cotton (and some linen), is characterised by Good On You and Eco-Stylist as ethical/slow fashion, and emphasises low-waste cutting, non-plastic packaging and traceable production rather than high-turnover trend cycles.
Certifications: No Nasties uses GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic cotton and Fairtrade certification (Good On You lists it under “Fairtrade International – Small Producers Organisations”). Its manufacturing partner Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills holds GOTS, Fairtrade (FLOCERT FLO ID 4512), Fair Trade USA, and SA8000 certifications. No B Corp, OEKO-TEX, or European Flax certification is documented for No Nasties in any source reviewed..

So many No Nasties basics are pure cotton, but No Nasties’s fitted and active styles typically add a small share of synthetic.
How we scan. Every figure on this page comes from the Throne Standard scan: we read the fibre composition off each live product on the brand’s own site, style by style, and count only single-fibre plant cloth (cotton, linen, hemp) as natural. Animal fibres such as wool, silk and cashmere and plastic-based synthetics such as polyester, nylon and elastane sit outside the plant-fibre figure, and regenerated fibres such as viscose, bamboo, modal and Tencel are counted as semi-synthetic. Percentages are calculated over the styles that state a composition; anything unlabelled is shown separately.
