Documented facts: FIGS is independently rated “Not Good Enough” overall by Good On You (Planet 2/5, People 2/5, Animals 3/5). Good On You found no evidence FIGS ensures living wages in its supply chain, though FIGS audits some facilities including its final production stage;
FIGS designs in-house but does not own its factories; it outsources garment production to third-party contract manufacturers, predominantly in Asia. Per its SEC filings and Wikipedia, FIGS sources the majority of its fabrics from a small number of suppliers in China, with other trims (labels, elastics, buttons, drawcords) mostly from Asia-Pacific suppliers, and it operates a product-innovation lab in Taipei, Taiwan. FIGS (FIGS, Inc.) is an American healthcare-apparel brand (medical scrubs and uniforms) co-founded in 2013 by Heather Hasson and Trina Spear in Los Angeles, and is headquartered in Santa Monica, California. FIGS is an independent, publicly traded company, not a subsidiary of a parent group: it listed on the New York Stock Exchange under ticker FIGS on 27 May 2021, reportedly the first company led by two female co-founders to go public on the NYSE. Before the IPO, Thomas Tull’s investment firm Tulco invested roughly $65 million (c. 2017-2018) and held a controlling pre-IPO stake; today ownership is spread across public Class A shareholders and institutional holders, with founders retaining aligned stakes. Trina Spear is CEO and co-founder; Heather Hasson moved to Executive Chair in August 2022.
FIGS is a real, currently-trading, legitimate business, not defunct. FIGS, Inc. trades live on the NYSE (ticker FIGS), reported full-year 2025 net revenue of about $631.1 million (up ~14% year over year) with net income of ~$34.3 million, grew Q1 2026 net revenues 28% to $159.9 million, surpassed three million active customers, and carries a market capitalisation around $1.8 billion as of mid-2026. It is a large, established public company.
FIGS is neither traditional fast fashion nor a slow/small-batch maker; it is a large-scale, high-volume direct-to-consumer uniform brand. Unlike trend-driven fast-fashion labels, FIGS sells a relatively stable core range of durable work uniforms rather than churning disposable seasonal fashion, and it markets its garments on longevity. However, it is not slow or small-batch: it is a mass-market, publicly traded company producing at scale through offshore contract factories with hundreds of millions in annual revenue, so it does not fit the “small-batch/artisanal” category either.

How we scan. Every figure comes from the Throne Standard scan: we read the fibre composition off each live product, style by style, and count only single-fibre plant cloth (cotton, linen, hemp) as natural. Animal and plastic-based synthetic fibres sit outside the plant-fibre figure, and regenerated fibres such as viscose, rayon, modal and Tencel are counted as semi-synthetic.
