The Agence Territoriale de l'Environnement runs citizen monitoring: volunteers walk beaches early each morning in nesting season looking for turtle tracks, and Reef Check has run since 2018 with volunteers surveying three reef stations annually to a standardised protocol. The ATE states the public can join.
THE single most substantive way a visitor can leave St Barth better than they found it. Data goes to the reserve manager; the ATE credits rising recorded nest counts directly to volunteer participation.
